What is FilterFormula?

FilterFormula is a Photoshop-compatible meta-plugin filter that allows you to create your own filters by a simple language which is very similar to "C". This makes it a unvalualble tool for all graphic designers with a computer programming background who have not yet found the ONE plugin filter that satisfies all their needs, or those who do not want to buy many expensive filters when they can have one that can do all!

Its main features are:

Definition of the filters in a "C" like language, allows the use of auxiliary variables
Two-pass filtering (optional, plus initializion blocks) allows to define very complex filters. The first pass is used to collect data, in the second pass the image is actually filtered (Color & lightness equalization, etc.)
Storage array up to 256 KBytes available, many predefined variables and functions (including trigonometric functions)
Supports RGB, YUV (r/o) and HLS color models, supports alpha channel manipulation.
Adobe Filter Factory source code compatible; import of .afs files and text files.
With the "professional edition" version you can create royalty-free distributable stand-alone filters (You do not have to invoke FilterFormula to apply your filter)
Very fast by directly creating 386+ machine code.
Support for special purposes: Gamma correction tables, sort() function (for "median cut"-like filters), bilinear interpolation
No need for any other files than contained in the package (except standard Windows DLLs).

System Requirements:

IBM-compatible PC
at least a Pentium 133 MHz, 32 MB RAM (>= 64 MB preferred)
2 MB harddisk space required
Windows 95/98 or Windows NT 4 (NT 5 should also work).
Image editor that supports Adobe-compatible plugin filters, such as:

Adobe Photoshop (versions 4 and 5)
JASC Paint Shop Pro 5
Corel Photopaint 7 or 8
Microsoft PhotoDraw 2000
and many others....

Download the shareware version now! It is nearly fully functional (no coloured stripes or similar that make your image unusable) during the 30 days trial period, but has some restrictions compared to the full version (see the documentation inside that package).

Within two weeks from now, release 1.1 with many new features will be available! There are two packages: a "small edtion" and a "professional version" that allows to create standalone-filters.
